Info
The Light at the End of the Tunnel is a double compilation album by the Damned, released by MCA in 1987 as a retrospective collection. The same name was also given to a concurrently released video cassette and an approved band biography by Carol Clerk. The package was marketed as a greatest hits collection, but while it includes many of the bands acknowledged standards, several of the songs were album tracks, while others were B-sides or other rarities. This Damned retrospective, however, is the only. The Light at the End of the Tunnel was a double compilation album by The Damned, released in 1987 as a retrospective collection. The same name was Damned. Rock 1987. I Feel Alright. The History of the World Part 1. In Dulce Decorum. Anyone expecting a fully organized compilation from this double-disc effort will be sorely disappointed while the years for release dates are mentioned, the sources for many of the releases aren't, leaving neophytes to the Damned a bit high and dry. Happily, an appreciative and detailed essay from one Herb Fenstein more likely Chiswick label boss Roger Armstrong writing under a pseudonym, as he did in the liner notes to the CD version of Machine Gun Etiquette helps. The Shadow of Love. Damned Format: Audio Cassette. I can't really label this a greatest hits album anyway: the Damned didn't really have many hits per se. and they aren't a band that most housewives and little girls would really enjoy. Then again, as varied and as interesting as this compilation is, it's quite possible they'd find something they'd like. I know a lot of Damned officianardos do not like this MCA release but I think it's a great compilation and a great way to get into probably the most underrated band ever in the history of the world.
