He's touring with a version of his band, the Pacers, and in 2007, he stopped off in a Spanish studio and cut the nine tracks on this album in a single, day-long burst of creative energy. The band is ferocious, with guitar and saxophone solos ripping out of the speakers and Burgess' voice as strong as ever - on rockers like Treat Her Right he roars like a lion, while country songs like Cold Cold Heart find him adopting a richer, fuller singing style. Albert Austin Sonny Burgess May 28, 1929 August 18, 2017 was an American rockabilly guitarist and singer. Burgess was born on a farm near Newport, Arkansas to Albert and Esta Burgess. He graduated from Newport High School in 1948. In the early 1950s, Burgess played boogie woogie music in dance halls and bars around Newport. Burgess, Kern Kennedy, Johnny Ray Hubbard, and Gerald Jackson formed a boogie-woogie band they called the Rocky Road Ramblers.
