Frank Strazzeri, Bill Perkins, Joe LaBarbera, Tom Warrington, Lennie Niehaus Quintet. Album 1997 10 Songs. But Not for Me. Lennie Niehaus Niehaus. Lennie Niehaus, an excellent 1950s bop altoist, became so busy with arranging that he largely stopped playing in the early '60s. Niehaus had not declined one bit, and his playing throughout is quite exuberant. Niehaus the arranger is not absent either every song has colorful frameworks despite this being a quintet outing.
