Info
Certain Things Are Likely is the third studio album by English pop band Kissing the Pink, and their first under the acronym KTP, released in 1986 by Magnet Records. KTP co-produced the majority of the album with frequent collaborator Peter Walsh at various notable studios in Southern England as well as one in Munich, Germany. Magnet Records remixed most of the album in an attempt to make the album sound more commercial, using Phil Harding, which at the time Nick Whitecross explained this record is. Released in 1986, Certain Things Are Likely was the most mainstream release from Kissing the Pink. It was produced by mega-producer Peter Walsh Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel, Alphaville, The Church, China Crisis and PWL's uber mixer Phil Harding. Certain Things Are Likely sounds as if the band was trying hard to produce a hit. Place the blame on KTP's label, Magnet. The company wanted KTP to sell some records, and Certain Things Are Likely shaves the group's artiness and subtle charms for faceless dance-rock. One Step has its toe-tapping moments, but Nick Whitecross' passionless half-spoken, half-sung narrative becomes annoying after a while. Official Music Video.
