The sisters evince a magically light touch and extraordinary clarity, desite the recording quality. And if there are - as one complainant states - deviations from the written score, well this music is from within touching distance of the realm of jazz. Gershwin often wrote his works for 2 pianos and went through them with Oscar Levant. I am very particular about Gershwin recordings and am VERY disappointed that the LevantWhiteman recordings for Columbia have never appeared on CD and only once on LP.
