Geinoh Yamashirogumi managed to compose one of the all-time great movie soundtracks here. The AKIRA soundtrack has some truly great songs. The highlight is almost certainly Tetsuo, which will have left you breathless by the time its ten minute and sixteen second running time has elapsed. That's the best I can do to try and describe what is such a uniquely spectacular work of art. Geinoh Yamashirogumi have some other interesting and rewarding albums but I believe this is their magnum opus, and thanks to it being entwined with an equally seminal film it gets more attention than other similarly distinctive and forward thinking pieces of music.
