Info
Light of the Stable is a Christmas album by Emmylou Harris. It was originally released in 1979 by Warner Bros. Records but has since gone through several intervening releases. The 1992 Warner release was a remastered version of the original with a different album cover. It contains three newly recorded tracks in addition to remastered versions of the ten original tracks. Its cover came from the record sleeve of the original 45-rpm single. The album's gestation began with a 1975 single of Light of the Stable, with most of the material recorded years later, but Harris and producer Brian Ahern gave the project an admirably unified sound, which speaks of Christmas with a quiet dignity that's celebratory but reverent - this is one of the few Christmas albums from a secular artist that. scarcely mentions Santa Claus while focusing clearly on the birth of Christ. Текст песни: Hail, hail to the newborn king Let our voices sing him our praises Hail, hail to the guiding light That brought us tonight to our Harris: все альбомы, включая Out of Nashville , Rose of Cimarron , Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down и другие. Emmylou Harris. Released 1979. Light of the Stable The Christmas Album Tracklist. O Little Town Of Bethlehem Lyrics. Angel Eyes Lyrics. Emmylou Harris, Light of the Stable. Harris has always sung like an angel, and on this 1979 album she played the part, a living herald of joyful Nativity tidings. Some of the other golden-throated seraphim providing backing vocals: Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, and, er, Neil Young. The best part of this album are the five original songs written and produced by Brian Wilson, but even the standards with orchestral arrangements sound great because of the Beach Boys' harmonies as beautiful as a westward-leading star. The Beatles, The Beatles Christmas Album. 1992 Format: Audio CD: The Christmas Album - Light of the Stable by Emmylou Harris. Emmylou brings the same elegance and authenticity to Christmas that she always has to the varied genres her career encompassed. The hopeful and uptempo Christmas Time's A Coming opens the album, the familiar Away In A Manger is straightforward but touching, and Angel Eyes is a sad slow ballad. Her voice really soars on The First Noel, while Little Drummer Boy gets a sensitive, graceful treatment. Perhaps it's childhood nostalgia, but her traditional rendition of Star Of Bethlehem really stirred my soul. Emmylou Harris from her 1979 album Light Of The Stable. This is the title song, Light Of The Stable. Enjoy Personnel: Brian Ahern - 6-String Bass. Album 1979 13 Songs. You wont hear about Santa or reindeer here-instead, Emmylou Harris sings like an angel on this traditional Christmas album with a few twists. Her stunning a cappella version of The First Noel echoes long after it finishes, while Christmas Times A-Coming is a gentle country canter with sweetly cooing harmonies. Speaking of harmonies, you can hear guests Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, and Neil Young on some tracks, including the heavenly hallelujahs of the title track. Light of the Stable Emmylou Harris.
