Before And After Science - Brian Eno. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Before and After Science is the fifth studio album by British musician Brian Eno. Produced by Eno and Rhett Davies, it was originally released by Polydor Records in December 1977 in the UK and by US Island soon after. Guest musicians from the United Kingdom and Germany helped with the album, including members of Roxy Music, Free, Fairport Convention, Can and Cluster. Over one hundred tracks were written with only ten making the album's final cut. Existing one has terrible quality, so I've decided on uploading that one. It serves the purpose of my backup copy, in case I want to listen to it when I. Before and After Science is really a study of studio composition whereby recordings are created by deconstruction and elimination: tracks are recorded and assembled in layers, then selectively subtracted one after another, resulting in a composition and sound quite unlike that at the beginning of the process. Despite the album's pop format, the sound is unique and strays far from the mainstream. Ambient Experimental Art Rock. Brian Eno. Songs in album Brian Eno - Before And After Science 1977. They sound fantastic and are a much cheaper way to get these records in great quality with much less investment. Brian Eno - Before and After Science 1977 FULL ALBUM Vinyl Rip 39:07. Before and After Science is being touted as Brian Enos most commercial album, and with some reason: its a graceful, seductively melodic work, and side one even kicks off with a neat little disco riff. But this view also confuses the issue. People who think of Eno solely in terms of the static, artsy instrumentals on David Bowies Heroes and Low forget, or. Whether they acknowledged it or not, punks and reactionaries alike needed a respite from the tumult. Brian Enos fourth solo album, originally released on the Polydor imprint in December 1977, surreptitiously pulled off the not-inconsiderable feat of uniting both factions as an almost incidental by-product of its casual otherness

Sounds amazing. The album is very warm, especially the second half of it, and all these analogue sounds are very good sounding. Unfortunately, I can't compare it with the original pressing, but this one doesn't sound different from digital copies of original pressing, so nothing particular was changed, as far as I can hear.

Also a stereo issue with julie with where the left channel cuts out in the intro. frustrating. some other weird clicks in that track as well. when these half-speed masters dont have errors they sound incredible - but that's the thing - there are flaws all over them

I own the original 1977 pressing and recently bought this half speed master. The new one is more clear, more articulate with a bit more flesh out notes. The difference is subtle though and the difference in the musical ‘picture’ overall is not that great. All in all not a bad attempt..

Does this contain the lithographs by Peter Schmidt that came with the original album? This is the only one of the reissues I didn't pick up because I already have the original vinyl, but it is missing the lithographs. I'll consider buying this if it contains them. The other reissues had nothing but the mastering certificate and download code.

Sadly, no it does not contain the portfolio containing the four lithos. As stated earlier they are printed on the inside of the gate-fold (at reduced size and not on the thick paper).

Yes, both LPs in the double set I received are record two (sides c & d) as well. How many others have received this flaw, I wonder? Sounds pretty good, otherwise.

Regarding this new Abbey Road master, there's a flaw on Side Three during the song "Here He Comes" where, at the end of the third chorus, the audio shifts slightly over to the right channel for a few seconds before returning back to its balanced state. This flaw is not in the lossless .wav files that came as a download code with the record.Just my copy, or... ?EDIT: So, it turns out this flaw (and some others since discovered) are part of the deterioration of the master tapes used for these Abbey Road reissues, 13 years removed from the 2004 DSD reissues on CD. A bit of a shame, but honestly, for those of you (like me) who have never owned the original pressings of the Eno quadrilogy and were hoping to have brand new copies for themselves that sound just as good, if not better, than the originals, you're better off buying these while they're still affordable instead of purchasing used & near-expensive vintage pressings. Also, I suspect the download codes for these albums contain lossless .wav files of the 2004 DSD issues, because they don't contain the same aural drops these reissues do. Docked one star for Before and After Science having the most master-tape dropouts of the quadrilogy reissues, and the fact that my copy of Disc 2 was dirty as hell on both sides. Vastly reduced the pops, hiss and clicks with a thorough cleaning, but some little bits remain. Good enough for me.

Not only did I have the same dirt problem on record two (especially on "Spider and I"--full of white dust!!!) but my copy originally came with a damaged record, with something like a melted outer groove and a dent in the middle of "Through Hollow Lands". They replaced it, but seriously, what is the quality control at the pressing plant? Eno re-releases always seem to have problems--remember the tape stretching on the first CD editions from the early 90s??

I haven't heard these new 45rpm pressings yet...but am I the only one who would prefer a simple, single disc 33rpm repress? First of all I hate having to flip after 2 or 3 songs, and they're also too expensive. I may be just getting old and crotchety but....

Pick up the 2x45's when Music Magpie have 20/25% off, deals on ebay. You'll get them for £20.04 each-delivered! Have them all now and they all sound superb. (It is a pest turning sides evety 10 minutes-lol).

Having an OG copy of this one, I’d actually say having 2 discs would definitely help the sound quality (I don’t have this 2x version, but I do have several of the other Eno 2x reissues), if that is a consideration you’re making when purchasing physical music. My argument is that most of these early (and later, really) Eno albums are in excess of 40 minutes (like this one) and often nearing 50 minutes (a lot of his instrumental releases). 20 minutes is a lot to cram onto one side without sacrificing dynamics. For example, with my Island US copy (EX) of Before and After, “King’s Lead Hat” is placed at the end of side A. It is only a 16ish minute long side, but KLH is kind of the banger, very dynamic recording but the dynamics are distorted in a way that I’m sure are completely absent in the 2x version. I’ve noticed no such distortions on my 2x copies of TTM(BS), Music for Films, or Another Green World, each of which are as long (or significantly longer) than Before and After Science. Now, it would have been better to have placed this song earlier on either side in the first place, but those are consessions you don’t have to make stretching the material out across 4 sides, with 8-12 minutes per side. Will I be buying the 2x version? If I had unlimited funds, I would. But I’ll live with my OG single and buy 2x versions of the ones I don’t have (when I summon the patience to deal with the rife pressing defects Optimal is putting out and that Abbey Road is ignoring, that is).

I am with you, none of his early albums are all that long, I just wanna sit and listen to a good 33rpm disc. Same with some of Miles Davis's stuff, it's listening music not two or three songs then jump up and change.

YES YES YES! Why not a heavy weight single slab. Overly fussy, and not conducive to a sustained, pleasurable listening experience.

Totally agree flipping a record after 2 or 3 songs is just annoying. Just get the original 70's pressings or the early 80's EG pressings they sound great.

Original pressings sound quality was not the best. These new pressings should set it straight. I am sure they will sound great.

I completely agree. I own all except one of these already and I would be much more inclined to purchase these if they weren't so pricey. Each side is going to be something like 8 minutes long which is a little excessive in my eyes. Seems like a cash grab to me.

Definitely gimmicky. Vinyl is popular again so of course companies are going to spread the whole thing so thin to milk as much money as they can out of it
