In the early 2000's there was something incredibly exciting happening in dance music. Much like the progression of liquid Drum n Bass, breaks started to morph into a few notable sub genre's as well. It was an incredibly fresh sound in the clubs back then and for a brief moment between 2002 and 2004 two undefind new sub genres; Progressive breaks and tech funk, meshed to produce some absolute jems of which this record is one. Pipedream is an immaculate piece of work, pristine production that catches the creative energy of Elite Force in his infancy... Its heavy, it swings and it has the most infectious proggy groove.

Elite Force, Dan F, Lee Coombs and Meat Katie are some notable producers all pioneering this sound. Acts from Melbourne like Nubreed and lostep started to push the envelope even more and it seemed as if this crazy torpedo wasn't going to stop... But for some reason the scene quickly changed and techfunk prospered (and ultimately spawned electro) while prog breaks fizzled out. It came and went in a blink of an eye but it still gives me pause every so often when Im ruffling through my old records. What a magical time it was to be involved with breaks
