Info
Commencement is the debut studio album by American rock band Deadsy, released on May 14, 2002. After initially being suspended upon distribution changes at Sire, the album was officially released through DreamWorks under the Elementree sub-label. It includes the single The Key to Gramercy Park which gained minor attention for its music video. Despite featuring various guest musicians and the support of popular industry figures such as Jonathan Davis and Fred Durst, Commencement was a commercial. Deadsy is a self-titled album by Deadsy, their first album on a label. It was released in 1996 on Witchouse ElektraWarner Records as a promotional-only release blue disc, and later re-released in 1997 white disc. At the time Deadsy only consisted of 3 members, so Elijah Blue asked Jay Gordon now in Orgy to play bass for some of the tracks on the record. Elijah Blue: vocals, guitar, bass and synthesizers. Renn Hawkey: synthesizers. 14 tracks 67:29. Album 1999 14 Songs. 14 Songs, 1 Hour 8 Minutes. Released: Sep 28, 1999. 2002 SKG Music . 60 million songs. Fans of vintage electronica will wallow blissfully in the album's many sinkholes of subsonic analog sound, but for those who favor the digital muse or, for that matter, bands that have kicked the keyboard habit, Commencement may pose a few challenges. Deadsy is kind of like its cousin Orgy. Lots and lots of metal and synths. I personally like the synth-heavy tracks on this CD, although some of the other tracks are worth listening to. One interesting thing about Deadsy is that the lyrics are sometimes cryptic, pretentious, or just confusing. They cite history, philosophy, and obscure pop culture. However, it is refreshing to have music that forces you to look up the dictionary or the encyclopedia. Commencement, 1999
