If you ignore the original version of Dayvan Cowboy, this is a great EP. Left Side Drive and Skyliner are fantastic and whilst they are somewhat in line with the BOC sound, they are also quite unique in terms of production style for BOC. They are in a very different vein from what they usually release and, to my ears, do not seem to fit with the palette of The Campfire Headphase which was released the year before. Skyliner is an infectious track and has wonderfully spacious reverbed drums driving it along. As a bonus the Odd Nosdam remix of Dayvan Cowboy is absolutely phenomenal and a real treat from the cLOUDEAD camp. It doesn`t so much reconstruct the original track but creates something entirely abstract from it. It sounds like gentle waves of morphing electronic symphony assembling itself into an organic machine. With a slow burning, understated but ominous mid-track crescendo which eventually crunches into gear, it propels it`s massive hulk forwards then fades away into the distance. It leaves you mildly puzzled as to what you have just experienced. Worth buying alone for this. And the white vinyl is lovely too.

BoC have not disappointed me yet and I very excited to get this new EP, especially when I heard it'd be on coloured vinyl. The opening track was an instant classic with most fans and kind of has two parts to it. There's the ambient opening and then the track falls nicely into the mellow IDM style that they go so well. There's a couple fillers in the EP, such as "Under The Coke Sign" but they don't distract from the release at all. The only negative thing about this EP is the last track, which is remixed by Odd Nosdam. I personally never heard of him myself but I didn't like this remix at all it didn't even seem like it was the same track. Thankfully it was the last one and I can just simply pop up my needle and turn in back to side A to listen to Dayvan Cowboy again, and again, and again.

i think its a great remix and a wonderful piece of ambient music. i can relate to your love of the classic BoC sound, however, after a few listens to the original dayvan cowboy, i have to admit, i am a little tired of it. i much prefer songs like the devil is in the details.
