The cover art is actually a painting done by artist Lynn Curlee called Smoking Angels, and was not specifically commissioned for the Heaven and Hell album. All tracks are written by Tony Iommi, Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. This is their first album featuring Ronnie James Dio, and first with producer Martin Birch.
