ZZ Top pronounced zee zee top is an American rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in 1969. The group consists of founder Billy Gibbons guitar, lead vocals, Dusty Hill bass, vocals and Frank Beard drums, percussion. Initially rooted in blues, ZZ Top's style has evolved throughout their career, with a signature sound based on Gibbons' blues guitar style and Hill and Beard's rhythm section. I think this album shows their inexperience, but there are a few songs that I love on this album. That inexperience is actually a good thing. They're just playing the blues the old-time rock way. There is only a hint of the ZZ Top personality there. But Certified Blues and Brown Sugar are great songs. There's also some almost country sound to a couple of songs.
