Info
The Food Album is a compilation album by American singer-songwriter Weird Al Yankovic, released on June 22, 1993 by Scotti Brothers Records. The release features ten of Yankovic's song parodies, all of which pertain to food. A similar album, The TV Album, which features songs entirely about television, would be released two years later. The album was begrudgingly released by Yankovic, who felt that the compilation was unnecessary and merely a way for his record label to make money. Several food. Album: The Food Album. This 1993 set from Weird Al Yankovic collects previously-released, food-themed parodies onto one disc. It's a hokey, hilarious, and often ingenious set, including the classics Eat It, Fat, and I Love Rocky Road. The album is perhaps a bit too filling, with also-rans like The White Stuff and Addicted to Spuds clogging up arteries here and there. Likewise, Spam seems like too predictable a target for one of music's greatest satirists. Nevertheless, The Food Album is an enjoyable bag of treats. Weird Al Yankovic 1983. Okay, so number 14 of 14 is Als debut album. This is by no means a bad album, but as Al continued making music over the years he really came into his own, and refined the craft of musical humor which left this album in the metaphorical dust. The parodies on this album are decent enough. The originals leave a bit to be desired. Personally, I like the song Happy Birthday which was written because Al thought there should be some options when it came to selecting a song to sing to someone on their birthday. Weird Al Yankovic Format: Audio CD. Some of the songs on The Food Album are on other Weird Al CDs, so make sure that you don't already have all of the songs before you buy this CD. It's amazing how Al can make his songs sound so much like the songs he parodies. You have to listen to the CD quite a few times before you notice all of the hysterical lyrics. Some people think Weird Al is tacky, but come on-he's guaranteed to put a smile on your face Read more. One person found this helpful.
