A welcome tribute in the wake of Borland's sad suicide. One hopes this CD stirs interest in an underrated, troubled artist, a British atmospheric pop giantpioneer who left behind 22 years of venerable recordings over a good dozen LPs. The Sound were an English post-punk band, formed in South London in 1979 and dissolved in 1988. They were fronted by Adrian Borland, and evolved from his previous band, the Outsiders. It would eventually prove to be extensive, spanning over seven full-length albums some of which were released posthumously and several EP's. On April 26th, 1999, Adrian Borland committed suicide in London, England by throwing himself underneath a train. He was at the time recording a new album.
