The controversial 1980 purchased The Crying Game soundtrack not for the songs When a Man Loves a Woman, etc. which are always quite good to listen to, but for the score, which probably won't get the attention it should and is just perfect for this film. There is an eerie melancholia in this original material that is rather moving. Thankfully the second, instrumental part of the CD, written by Anne Dudley from the Art of Noise, is an unqualified delight. Dudley had worked with the Boys on Getting Away with it by Electronic she was in charge of the coda and she filled Liza Minnelli's pop album Results with beautifully luscious orchestral arrangements
