8 Mile: Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture is the official soundtrack to the 2002 movie of the same name. The album, performed by various artists, was released under Shady Records. It spawned the hit single Lose Yourself by Eminem, who also stars in the semi-autobiographical movie. The album also spawned a follow up soundtrack, More Music from 8 Mile, consisting of songs that appear in the film and were released as singles during the film's time setting of 1995. One of the songs was. What impresses is not just the wordplay and delivery, but the music itself - fuller, richer than anything on his previous records, appropriately cinematic in scope and pushing Eminem toward new heights. The opening track and first single Lose Yourself is easily equaled by the title song with its layered pianos, while Rabbit Run is nearly as good. Album 2002 16 Songs. It also spawned a follow up soundtrack, More Music from 8 Mile, consisting of songs that appear in 8 Mile, that were released as singles during the films time setting of 1995.
