Direct is a studio album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1988. The album marks a new development in Vangelis' music, during which Vangelis moved his creative base from London to Athens in Greece, and it was his first album recorded in Athens after relocation from London. Born on March 29, 1943 in Volos, Greece, Vangelis started writing music when he was 4 and performed his first live concert at age 6. He started his career as a member of The Forminx. In the sixties, he was a founding member of Aphrodite's Child 'Rain and Tears', 'End of the World', etc. along with Demis Roussos and Lucas Sideras. A talented composer, producer and musician, Vangelis is famous for composing soundtracks to films such as 'Blade Runner', 'Chariots Of Fire' and '1492: Conquest Of Paradise'.
