Fallen Angel is the 12th studio album by British rock band Uriah Heep, released in September 1978 by Bronze Records in the UK and Chrysalis Records in the US. Fallen Angel only reached No. 186 in the US Billboard 200, but in Germany, the band were at the height of their popularity. On this album, the band moved toward an AOR sound, as opposed to the progressive rock of previous albums. It is the third and last album released by this line-up of the band. The album reached only 186 but did well in Germany. It was followed by a tour that was highlighted on a album Live in Europe 1979. Come Back to Me and Love or Nothing were released as singles. The album was re-released in 1997 with 4 bonus tracks. On Fallen Angel, Uriah Heep continued the push toward an AOR-friendly style that began with Innocent Victim. The resulting album is too poppy to please hardcore metal fans and too eccentric to fit the bill of an AOR record, but it still manages to be a surprisingly enjoyable listen. Fallen Angel focuses squarely on crafting driving rock tunes leavened with a series of pop hooks: Woman of the Night pairs guitar-bolstered verses with a harmony-drenched chorus reminiscent of Queen while One More Night cleverly conforms the sloppy good cheer of boogie rock to a pop song for.
