Stairway to Hell is an EP by the American alternative rock band Ugly Kid Joe. It was released digitally on June 5, 2012, and physical version surfaced a month later, July 9. This is their first studio recording since 1996's Motel California, and their first EP since 1991's As Ugly as They Wanna Be. A video for its single Devil's Paradise was released on May 24, 2012 to promote it. Five days later, the EP was available for streaming in its entirety. Another music video for the I'm Alright song was. If ever a band appeared destined to an eternal adolescence it was Ugly Kid Joe, a bunch of goons who rode in on the last wave of hair metal. They were so intentionally gross and stupid, both in their music and visuals, there seemed no way for the group to grow old gracefully, so they did what most bands do - they broke up. Each member wound up pursuing a different path in the hard rockmetal circuit but, despite some measure of success, the group couldn't resist the clarion call of nostalgia. But, they are back and, judging from the contents of this EP, are in fine form I put off getting this EP until the physical copy was available. The one downside to Stairway To Hell is that it is so short There are some great songs here, and the US CD release has 3 bonus acoustic tracks on it, well worth the purchase. No One Survives is an epic track, and shines on this EP, but if you are a fan of attitude filled rock, then every track on this CD will satisfy you. Any fan of Ugly Kid Joe would be very impressed with this album. Every track rocks.
