And I feel Like I'm slowly. Lemon is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fourth track on their 1993 album, Zooropa, and was released as its second single in September 1993. Inspired by old video footage of lead vocalist Bono's late mother, the lyrics describe an attempt to preserve memory through film. More than any previous U2 song, Lemon showcases Bono's falsetto skills, aided by atmospheric vocals from the Edge and Brian Eno, and is among the band's longest songs. U2 - Lemon 1993. This CD single is from U2's 1993 album Zooropa and was only released in the U. It contains four versions of the disco-flavored song, but that is slightly misleading. The two real remixes on this single are the Oakenfold Jeep Mix and the Morales BYC Version DUB. Of those two, only the Paul Oakenfold version is worthy. The Jeep Mix is stunning, as is most of Oakenfold's work for U2. Lemon was written and recorded during the Zooropa album sessions, which took place between March and May 1993. The song was written by Bono, based on memories of old video footage of his mother in a lemon-coloured dress. The song was one of the last to be completed for Zooropa. Other markets worldwide did not see a commercial Lemon single, aside from a 12-inch yellow vinyl released in the USA. Promotional-only singles were issued to radio in North America and Europe.
