Another Day is a song by Irish rock band U2. It was commercially released as a single in February 1980 by CBS Ireland as a follow-up to their first release, the EP U2-3. Another Day was recorded by U2 at CBS Studios in London at No. 31-37 Whitfield Street, W1, in December 1979 during a mini-tour of the Capital city, which comprised their first live performances outside of Ireland. It was produced by the CBS talent scout Chas de Whalley. The Ireland-only single contains the songs Another Day and Twilight different versions than the ones that appeared on Boy. This single was recorded before superproducer Steve Lillywhite entered into the U2 universe. U2 would go on to be labeled the Band of the 1980s, and this is their first release in that decade. Another Day has never been featured on a U2 album. The b-side, Twilight, however, was later re-recorded and released on Boy. Another Day was recorded with producer Chas DeWhalley, who had also worked with the band on Three. The release of Another Day was timed to coincide with a concert at Dublin Stadium on February 26, 1980, that was broadcast on RTE2 radio. While introducing the song during the show, Bono mentioned that the single was out on CBS, but predicted that it would not be out on that label for long.
