Dear Science is the third studio album by American rock band TV on the Radio. It was released on September 16, 2008, digitally through Touch and Go Records, with the physical release coming a week later through Interscope Records in North America and 4AD elsewhere. Dear Science was recorded in 2008 at the Stay Gold studio in Brooklyn, New York. Musically, the album has been described as indie rock, art rock, funk, soul, and post-punk. Kyp Malone said that the album's title came from a note that Dave. TV on the Radio has always been a band I have trouble describing and Dear Science doesn't really make it any easier. There's a lot to their sound, and yet they've never written anything particularly esoteric or challenging. Their sound is a cogent blend of indie rock, soul, electronic musics, post punk and even hip-hop, and Dear Science adds an extra dose of funk to the mix. One of the best albums of 2008, Dear Science is an album you can ramble on about for nearly 600 words before you realize you forgot to mention Golden Age, arguably the best song on the album. It gets better every time I listen to it and that's a trend that only seems to be continuing. Dear Science. TV On The Radio - Dear Science 2008. To favorites 5 Download album. Listen album. After the roaring success of their experimental rock opus, Return To Cookie Mountain, TV On The Radio produced their follow up, a warmer, more accessible release that still brimmed with their unique genre-bending sound. The title comes from a phrase Dave Sitek wrote up in the studio. Dear Science, please start solving problems and curing diseases or shut the fuck up. Dear Science Q&A
