Tulalah are a nine-piece outfit hailing from Melbourne. Incorporating elements of jazz, folk, rock & cinematic influence, they strive to create a sound that is far beyond the expanse of their instrumentation. After self-releasing their debut EP The Mule in June of 2013, Tulalah focused on writing & recording their debut album The Flood, which will be released through Melbourne independent label, Equinox Recordings on October 17 at the Shadow Electric in Melbourne. In this context, the implication of the phrase is: despite his recantation, the Church's proclamations to the contrary, or any other conviction or doctrine of men, the Earth does, in fact, move around the Sun, and not vice versa. Tulalah's debut LP, 'The Flood' out October 16th, 2015 via Equinox Recordings. The album was recorded at a small home-made studio in the beachside town of Blairgowrie along the Mornington Peninsula as well as several halls & churches in Melbourne's inner north to track vocal, string & horn sections. The original sextet eventually expanded into the current 9-piece lineup. WIth the assistance of co-producer Jono Steer, the album was then mixed at Melbourne's iconic Sing Sing Recording Studios. The singles 'Selma', 'And Yet It Moves' and 'Distortrait' have resonated with critics both in Australia and around the world.
