With their third album Skinny Flowers, Three Crosses add a few new flairs to their modern rock sound and, in turn, become one of the more interesting CCM bands of the late '90s. The group's sound is based in acoustic jangle-pop, but they also delve into arena-rock, punk-funk and blues. At times, the eclecticism makes the group seem unfocused, but for the most part, Skinny Flowers offers enough good music and surprises to confirm Three Crosses' status as a truly challenging and exciting CCM outfit.
