Info
That Was the Week That Was, informally TWTWTW or TW3, was a satirical television comedy programme on BBC Television in 1962 and 1963. It was devised, produced, and directed by Ned Sherrin and presented by David Frost. The programme is considered a significant element of the satire boom in the UK in the early 1960s, as it broke ground in comedy by lampooning political figures. Its broadcast coincided with coverage of the politically charged Profumo affair, and John Profumo became a figure of derision. The Week That Was is the side-project of Peter Brewis, member of the Sunderland art-rock band Field Music. The group was created by Brewis during Field Music's 2007-2009 hiatus, during which the two Brewis brothers Peter & David Brewis went off to pursue wider musical interests not under the 'Field Music' umbrella. The Week That Was is the first solo project from Field Music co-founder Peter Brewis. He has released one album - the self-titled 2008 debut - under the moniker. For those that don't know, Sunderland-based Field Music released two full albums, the eponymous 2005 debut and 2007's Tones of Town, both of which became one of many peoples albums of the year. Perhaps willfully to some, Field Music, on the cusp of breaking through, decided, to get off the band treadmill concerned that being in a band in the traditional sense was restricting their creative output. read more. Ad Nauseum. 100 of the Greatest Comedy Skits. Title: That Was the Week That Was 19641965. But it is best remembered for three performers: its impossibly sophisticated special correspondent, David Frost, who was introduced to American audiences by this show the beautiful blonde folk singer, Nancy Ames and puppeteer Burr Tillstrom, previously known almost solely for the children's show Kukla, Fran, and Ollie, whose innovative hand ballets have never been duplicated. For two short seasons, this was real must-see TV. 14 of 14 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful to you Yes. The Week That Was Overture Bonus Track. 9 Songs, 38 Minutes.
