Australia swooping season can be a nervous time on a bike. It was released in 1981, by Corwood Industries 0740. There have been two CD reissues so far, each adding more silence between the tracks. This album appeared three years after Ready for the House, which remains the longest interval between Jandek albums so far. It is composed mainly of slow songs, most. 100 improvised music, no tunes, zero material to fall back on. Just ears, adrenaline, focus, being in the moment, pure. The Monkeybats were around for barely over a year in the mid-90's non-scene in Phoenix, AZ. We were there mainly just to bum out anybody we could, and we achieved our goal there in spades. 86'd from many local venues by many lowlife scumbag promoters who we refused to play along with.
