Info

Rev9 embraces more disparate '60s and '70s influences, with occasional paisley pop jangle reminiscent of '60s-loving '80s geniuses The Rain Parade, but to call this mini-album retro is impossibly hard. Avoiding post modern irony, elements of the past, present, and future are tackled with Shazam. On the Airwaves effected guitar motif is uncannily Gary Numan, but come the chorus, which builds up with '70s arena riffs, a change occurs before rolling into an almost Quadrophenia era Who section. Shazam is the second studio album by English rock band the Move, released in February 1970 by Regal Zonophone. The LP marked a bridge between the band's quirky late '60s pop singles and the progressive, long-form style of Roy Wood's next project, the Electric Light Orchestra. It was the last Move album to feature the group's original lead vocalist, Carl Wayne. So Awesome, the explosive lead-off track, sets the stage for the whole gamut of The Shazam's modern classic rock: big, Who-sized guitars collide with glittering insanity, melodic hooks, anthemic rockers, sweeping balladry, layers of vocals, resounding drums, guitars, guitars, guitars. Dubbed their experimental album, Rev9 was the bridge from Godspeed to Tomorrow The World's full-tilt arena rock. Meteor is everything Shazam all at once. Lívia Rév. 36 Shazams. Open in.
