From there, they gained popularity from New York to New Orleans. Trumpeter Dick Cathcart would join the band at the end of their life. As a Dixieland fan, I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't heard of these guys before seeing this album today (in a thrift store, no less). Man, they could blow up a storm! The drummer, Jim Lunsford, let's just say I'm going to be wearing this LP out to try and cop some of his licks to use with our Dixieland group! SM
