Info
Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned is an album by Czech underground band The Plastic People of the Universe. It was recorded in 197475, mainly at Houska Castle, enabled by the castle's then warden Svatopluk Karásek, with some songs being recorded in Prague. The album could not be officially released and distributed under the former Communist regime in Czechoslovakia instead fans duplicated tapes with one another, often resulting in poor technical quality. It was released in 1978 in France by. I do not own this music. Tracklist: 00:00:00 , labels say: The Plastic People Of The Universe. The correct recording date is December 1974 at the Houska castle, Czechoslovakia. Track titles and lyrics are given in English, Czech and French inside the gatefold. So that made me feel bad about selling it. One thing - I don't know if there were two different books. I seem to remember that the first one I had was printed in English - whereas the one I have now is all in French. Egon Bondy's poetry may not be the most lyrical you've ever heard, but his imagery is striking in its desperation and anger. Lots of honking saxes courtesy of Vratislav Brabenec, who is a big-time blower in the style of German free jazz player Peter Brotzmann. For those whose love for late-'60searly-'70s progressive rock is boundless, this is absolutely essential. I first heard most of these tracks on the 1997 live CD that the band recorded during a triumphant return to Prague after the fall of the Soviet Union. The difference between these early, very primitive recordings and the comparatively more polished 1997 versions is quite striking. The sound quality on these recordings is very uneven, and I suppose would be considered poor at times. Listen album. Psychedelic Rock. The Plastic People Of The Universe.
