Favorite track: Hadopelagic II: Let Them Believe. David Fischer. David Fischer A seriously beautiful contribution to post-metal. The album truly sounds like a decent into deep waters. Light and friendly in the beginning and furious towards the end. A great, downward journey. The element can be felt here. Favorite track: Abyssopelagic II: Signals of Anxiety. Alex Jesus. Alex Jesus Concept album done at its finest. It's nice how both versions of the album can be different, yet completely amazing experiences. It's a must buy Fav. Pelagial is the sixth studio album by German progressive metal band The Ocean. It is a concept album with the track titles referencing, in descending fashion, the oceanic depth zones. Musically, the concept is explored by sequencing the music such that it is increasingly dark and claustrophobic in emulation of the diminishing light and increasing pressure that comes with oceanic descent. The album was initially conceived as an instrumental release, although vocals were subsequently added the band has. Album 2013 22 Songs. Pelagial The Ocean. free to The Ocean Pelagial Epipelagic, Mesopelagic: Into the Uncanny and more. 22 tracks 106:26. Raising the bar from previous concept albums the band has done, Pelagial is a multilayered concept album exploring different themes both lyrically and instrumentally. The title of the album references an open body of water and each track, in descending order, is named after the oceanic depth zones. Instrumentally, this theme of oceanic descent is built upon by the album progressively becoming darker, slower, and more claustrophobic. Buy from. Lyrics of the album in certain tracks are taken from lines of the Russian science fiction movie Stalker from 1979. Recording information: Recorded between January 2012 and January 2013: drums recorded at Bikini Test, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. What we ended up with was a stunning concept album that takes listeners from the oceans surface to its deepest, darkest depths, with the music and lyrical themes - often doubling as metaphors for the human psyche - getting increasing heavier, weighty and claustrophobic as the album progresses. And oh, what a journey it is Whats most remarkable about Pelagial is that you really dont feel it happening, just as you wouldnt be aware of the slow pace at which a submarine descends into our seas murky channels
