This very bold sound piece features the highly original, if smashingly dissonant, walls of sound from a big band with a flair for densely composed structure. This is the best album to date from this highly unusual cluster, which features thick layers of orchestration, heavy on the woodwinds, but aided by some raunchy trombone and trumpet. Saxophonists Seth Misterka and Jackson Moore take center stage in what is largely a group effort for the one extended composition represented here, but what a piece it is . The Middletown Creative Orchestra. Crystal Lake. The Crystal Lake is a song by American indie rock band Grandaddy from their second album, The Sophtware Slump. It was released as a single on May 29, 2000 by record label V2, and was re-released in several formats in early 2001. Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle described the song as that age-old story, repeated many times in country music, of the wayward soul who leaves a small town with hopes and dreams of the unknown and winds up full of regret in some horrible little apartment in an unfriendly city. Crystal Lake started out in the summer of 2002, heavily influenced by mid-90's hardcoremetal, they prepared to make their impact on the Tokyo hardcore scene.
