GOld & New is their second and final studio album, containing new songs and different version of previously released tracks such as their hit I'm Blue The Gong-Gong Song which featured Tina Turner singing background vocals. The single, released in 1961, reached 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 3 on the R&B chart. They released two more charting singles in 1965, Peaches 'N' Cream Pop 36, R&B 28 and I'm So Thankful Pop 74, R&B 12. The last album by the Ikettes, GOld & New, was released on United Artists in January 1974. In March, Edna Richardson, Stonye Figueroa and Linda Sims appeared on Don Krishner's Rock Concert. Esther Jones, Yolanda Goodwin and Marcy Thomas soon replaced them for most of 1974. Richardson, Goodwin and Jones became the final lineup for the Ike & Tina Turner Revue by late 1975. In 1988, Ike Turner attempted an ill-fated return to the stage with Marcy Thomas, Bonnie Johnson, and Jeanette Bazzell as his Ikettes. He was arrested on drug charges the following year. I Ikettes were originally a trio of female vocalists formed to back up the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. First known as the Artettes, the trio later changed it's name and began to record in 1960 A Fool In Love with Tina Turner. In 1965 the most well-known trio of Venetta Fields, Jessie Smith and Robbie Montgomery left the Ike & Tina Turner revue to record under the name The Mirettes. They were replaced quickly with P.
