Machine Gun Etiquette is the third studio album by English punk rock band the Damned. It was released on 2 November 1979 by Chiswick Records. The album was the group's first since reforming with a new lineup of Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on lead guitar, Rat Scabies on drums and Algy Ward on bass guitar. It was the bands first album on Chiswick Records, following their reformation after splitting up briefly in 1978. By this point in The Damneds history, the line-up had changed from their first two albums, Damned Damned Damned and Music for Pleasure 1977. Brian James left the group, and was replaced on guitar by Captain Sensible, and Algy Ward of The Saints took Sensibles place on bass. Sensible also played keyboard on the album.
