The Cowsills: Are an American singing group from Newport, Rhode Island, six siblings noted for performing professionally and singing harmonies at an early age, later with their mother. The band was formed in the spring of 1965 by brothers Bill, Bob, and Barry Cowsill with their brother John joining shortly thereafter. Similar in style to pop groups The Mamas & the Papas, Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, The Monkees, AM Pop and sunshine pop-style pop music of the time, the Cowsills produced a family-friendly music produced by an actual family. The Cowsills were a singing group from Newport, Rhode Island specializing in what would later be defined as bubblegum pop. The band was formed in the spring of 1965 by four brothers - Barry, Bill, Bob, and John Cowsill. After their initial success, the brothers were later joined by their siblings, Susan and Paul and their mother, Barbara.
