The Clarendonians are a ska and rocksteady vocal group from Jamaica, active initially from the mid- to late 1960s. They reformed in the 1990s and continue to perform live. The Clarendonians were originally Fitzroy Ernest Wilson and Peter Austin who would also record as part of The Soul Lads, both from Hayes in Clarendon Parish, the duo coming together in 1963, at that time Peter was 17 years old, Ernest was 11. The duo won several talent contests and recorded their debut single, A Day Will Come. Never Gonna Be the Same is a reggaedancehall song written by Sean Paul for his third album The Trinity 2005. It is the fifth international single taken from the album. It is a tribute to his murdered friend, Daddigon. It was a split single with Give It Up to Me, which was released in its place in the US. The single reached the top 10 in France upon its release. It was digitally released in the UK on 10 July 2006, with its physical release on 17 July 2006. The single peaked at 22 there, Paul's. They were originally Fitzroy Ernest Wilson and Peter Austin, coming together in 1963. The duo recorded their debut single, A Day Will Come, in 1965 at Federal Records with producer Leslie Kong. Leaving Leslie Kong, they moved on to Duke Reid's Treasure Isle studio. Contrary to popular belief, the group was never a trio, and Freddie McGregor was not a member of the group.
