The Bobby Hackett Quartet was recorded in March 1959 with Dave McKenna, Bob Carter, and Dick Scott. This disc does not include material from Hawaii Swings, a record that came together at three sessions in April of 1959. Hackett's final Capitol album, Easy Beat, was taped in November of the same year, with a rhythm section consisting of Pepe Moreale, Bill Cronk, and Buzzy Drootin. Everything here is skillfully presented, and Hackett demonstrates the durable finesse which characterized his efforts beginning in the mid-'30s and for decades thereafter.
