Released by MCA Records in 1991, it included the band's only UK Top 40 hit single, Highway 5. The album was recorded and produced by Neil Dorfsman and mastered by Bob Ludwig. Highway 5 initially reached 42 on the UK Singles Chart. The single was remixed and re-released at the end of the year, and early in 1992 re-charted, this time peaking at 30. Prince of the Deep Water featured guest musicians Nicky. Prince of the Deep Water is a captivating album from the opening moments of the lead track, Highway 5. The shuffling dance-pop beat is soon forgotten as lead singer William Topley begins to sing. Topley possesses a deep, blues-tinged voice, capable of great warmth. While Flames is cut of the same cloth as Highway 5, much of the album is more organic and blues-tinged. Показать все 7. This album still satisfies so intently 17 years after its release. POTDW is my favorite album of all time and the first time I heard it, I was hooked. The vocals of William Topely are so smooth, sexy and raw. The lyrics make you sing to these songs over and over again. My favorite song is Highway 5 followed by Denial and Delta Rain. This is a fantastic recording, I have had the album two weeks and listened to it at least twice a day, just cannot be bothered with any other music than the moment, totally mesmerisd.
