Info
The Black Keys. Rubber Factory. The Black Keys Live in Sydney, Australia 2005. Rubber Factory is the third studio album by American rock duo The Black Keys. It was self-produced by the band and was released on September 7, 2004, on Fat Possum Records. The album was recorded in an abandoned tire-manufacturing factory in the group's hometown of Akron, Ohio. MUSICIANS The Black Keys are Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. All songs Performed by The Black Keys. Recorded at Sentient Sound January-May 2004 in Akron, OH by Patrick Carney. Mixed by The Black Keys. Mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound Artwork and Design by Michael Carney. Rubber Factory finds the duo expanding, stretching, and improving, coming into its own as a distinctive, original, thoroughly great rock & roll band. With 2003's Thickfreakness, guitaristvocalist Dan Auerbach and drummerproducer Patrick Carney delivered on the promise of a raw, exciting debut by sharpening their sound and strengthening the songwriting, thereby upping the ante for their next record, and Rubber Factory doesn't disappoint. Rubber Factory continues the Black Keys' tradition of raw, heavily blues-influenced indie rock. Rubber Factory was recorded in an abandoned coal burning power plant in the Black Keys' hometown of Akron, Ohio, and like Thickfreakness, was recorded and produced by Patrick Carney. I learned about The Black Keys 6 months ago and started with their debut album and bought everything except their latest to date. If I was going to recommend an album to start with, it would be Rubber Factory. I am a big fan of the White Stripes, and hearing these guys played as a two piece intrigued me. They have surpassed my expectations. The Black Keys' Rubber Factory. I bought this album after downloading a few tracks off of the artist's site and loving them all. I haven't listened to their first album, Thickfreakedness, to compare, but regardless, Rubber Factory is absolutely incredible. Listen to any track and you'll be hard-pressed to believe that this incredible sound is coming from only two people. If you've never heard their music before and are wondering what they sound like, imagine The White Stripes, but the drummer knows how to drum and there are no slow, experimental tracks for better or f. The Black Keys earlier work is noted for being recorded and produced entirely in drummer Patrick Carneys basement. However, once Carneys landlord sold the building in which the fabled studio rested, the band was forced to move elsewhere. Coming in at track seven and 4:55 in length, The Lengths is the longest song The Black Keys had recorded by over a minute. Its layering of slide melodies and acoustic guitar under heart-wrenching vocals make it one of the most unique tracks in the bands discography and one of the best. Admittedly, the album isnt without its shortcomings. Complete your The Black Keys collection. The Black Keys - Rubber Factory 2004. To favorites 10 Download album. Listen album.
