This was followed by a fourth studio album, Direct Action, in April 2010 and then by The Sound And Fury in 2011, an album of 12 re-imagined tracks from the catalog of the Alarm and of Mike Peters. 2013 saw the release of Vinyl, which featured new tracks written for the soundtrack album and performed by Mike Peters and The Alarm with guest vocals from the film's main stars, Phil Daniels and Keith Allen. The Alarm Albums by tour: Direct Direct Action grabbed me from a first listen, and it has only gotten better with each subsequent play. It's stunning. I'm caught by surprise by the state of Mike Peters' voice. That's another amazing rock album recalling the early Alarm except that then they only used acoustic guitars, and here there are some searing electric leads. It's almost like the Alarm are the last real rock band, as opposed to the pop production of bands on the radio, which has always been alergic to the Alarm. You run into people all the time singing Sold Me Down the River who think it's a great song, unaware that it's minor compared to some of the all-time great stuff they've done. Released: Mar 2018.
