Info

Declamation from the Latin: declamatio is an artistic form of public speaking. It is a dramatic oration designed to express through articulation, emphasis and gesture the full sense of the text being conveyed. In Ancient Rome, declamation was a genre of ancient rhetoric and a mainstay of the Roman higher education system. It was separated into two component subgenres, the controversia, speeches of defense or prosecution in fictitious court cases, and the suasoria. I remember Future Mix getting dropped by one of the residents at The Orbit around 2001 and I was astonished how well it went down because the crowd back then were pretty unforgiving when it came to Techno - very much all about the hardest shit you could handle. This was the same night Surgeon tore the club a new one too - I was almost close to tears he was that good!

I still remember the first time I heard a Technasia track, it was “Future Mix” in a mix by DJ Hell I had recorded from a radio show called “the 12 inch show” on the now defunct Slam FM back in probably 1998.

The minidisc I recorded it on was lost along the way, but I still vividly remember some of the tracks that were in the mix. Among it were Cubango by Jeff Mills, Yo Yo by Basement Jaxx, Moskow Diskow by Telex and Future Mix by Technasia. The titles I off course learned on later hand.

One of the tracks that stood out the most for me was Future Mix, after learning what track it was it must have cost me at least another year before I actually found the vinyl somewhere. I was listening to it the other day and it totally took me back and made me reminisce about the past.

If someone who reads this might have made the same recording of DJ Hell, I doubt it, but please let me know, you would make my day.

Two beautiful tracks. "The Declamation" reminds me of UR's "Amazon". "Future mix" really is two tracks blended with the sweetes transition. An awesome EP!

Simply one of the greatest tunes technasia ever did. This is an outstanding one in that decade when the track came out because of the composition, the arrangement, the monster step on the gas up to the middle of the track just to take the cool down transition to the second part of the track which leaves you a second to recognize how you got blown away before getting another hit. Perfect Soundtrack for a plane take off.

A tribute to the pioneering 'Future Mix Radio Show' in mainland China, the vocals on Future Mix by Rito Cheung read (please excuse my spelling of Mandarin, I dont speak it at all) " May loi Tzi sing " meaning Future Sound
