Info
Eye of the Tiger is the third album by American rock band Survivor, released in 1982. It reached 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It features the title track, which is the theme song of the film Rocky III. The single went to 1 in both the US and UK, while American Heartbeat reached 17 in the US. Both singles also made the charts in Germany. Following the temporary disbandment of Survivor in 1989, Jimi Jamison recorded a cover of Ever Since the World Began for the film Lock Up. Lyrics: It's the eye of the tiger It's the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey. 4: of the Tiger. Rising up, back on the street Did my time, took my chances Went the distance, now Im back on my feet Just a man and his will to survive. So many times it happens too fast You trade your passion for glory Dont lose your grip on the dreams of the past You must fight just to keep them alive. Its the eye of the tiger Its the thrill of the fight Rising up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor Stalks his prey in the night And hes watching us all with the eye of the tiger. Face to face, out in the heat Hanging tough, staying hungry They stack the odds still. Songs in album Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger 1982. Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger Unavailable. 1232Metalovich dds. Eye of the Tiger, the demo, he sang that in one take, maybe two. But when he was trying to, what we call, chase the demo , that took a long time. It was just because you have that initial rush of enthusiasm when youre doing the demo and then you have to recreate the excitement. But at the end of the day, I think he equaled it or surpassed it with a better sound. Survivors hard work paid off big time, and Peterik has zero regrets as he looks back at the Eye of the Tiger album all these years later. A lot of the stuff from the early to mid-80s was really over-processed and digital delays, he notes. We learned a lesson from Ron Nevison. A perfect example would be Survivor, and their third release overall, Eye of the Tiger. With the group's first two releases barely causing a ripple on the charts, it was Tiger that catapulted the band to the top, thanks to the chart-topping title track, which was used as the theme song to the hit movie Rocky III the same year. Despite this, the Eye of the Tiger album is often overlooked, even though it almost topped the charts as well peaking at number two. Read mor. I just think 'Eye of the Tiger' will stand forever. Survivor recorded the first version of this song in Chicago at sessions that went very well - it took them just two days to record and mix. When it came time to record the album, they recorded the song again this time at Rumbo Studios in Los Angeles, but had a hard time capturing the feel of the original
