It was originally released in 1968 by EMI Parlophone in the U. in a black and white sleeve. A slightly different version of the album was also released in the U. in 1968 as Sire Records SES 97012, one of the first releases on that label. Although it was not a success when it was first released, it is now widely regarded as one of the best psychedelic rock albums ever made. It was released by Mute Records in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2011 and in North America on 11 October 2011. As with their previous album, Light at the End of the World 2007, Tomorrow's World reached number 29 on the UK Albums Chart. The album was written in New York, London, and at Vince Clarke's cabin studio in Maine, between January and June 2011, following Erasure's short break, which found Andy Bell recording and. In the spring of 2003, Dan and Philipp began recording music together as For Tomorrow. They released their first album, Images of Light, in the Fall of 2003 despite the protests of their ancient, crash-happy PC and a microphone with background noise like a passing train. At that time,, For Tomorrow wove classical guitar, haunting violin solos and raspy, melancholy vocals into moving ballads. Their second album, Saved By Beauty, was recorded early in 2004 and marked a dramatic shift in musical direction.
