Uptight Everything's Alright is a 1965 hit single recorded by American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder for the Tamla Motown label. One of his most popular early singles, Uptight Everything's Alright was the first Stevie Wonder hit single to be co-written by the artist. Motown Records put plenty of promotion behind him getting him appearances in the movies Muscle Beach Party and Bikini Beach, but they couldn't get his talent to come across in a studio recording. With the top Motown producers passing on Stevie, it was looking bleak until he started working with Sylvia Moy and Henry Cosby. Moy had Stevie play her different song ideas he had come up with, but wasn't impressed with any of them. Up-Tight Everything's Alright. Stevie Wonder began demonstrating his production skills and compositional acumen on his first of two albums in 1966. Although still just a teenager, Wonder was already anxious to do more than simply grind out love tunes.
