City of Glass, an album originally issued as a 10 LP by Stan Kenton, consists entirely of the music of Bob Graettinger. The original album has been reconstituted in different LP re-issues, and the entire set of KentonGraettinger Capitol Records sessions is on the digital CD City of Glass. There is a great deal written in music history books about the period of artistic experimentalism after World War II in Europe and the United States. Much like the period in France after the Franco-Prussian War. Stan Kenton Format: Audio CD. This beautifully packaged set presents Kenton's entire Capitol output between the years 1943-47, with plenty of unreleased alternate versions and variations of many of Stan's classics of this period. The album presents a complete overview of the Artistry in Rhythm band and all of the great musicians who populated it during these important 5 years. The album clearly demonstrates how startlingly advanced Kenton's music was in comparison to existing trends at the time. The Best of Stan Kenton - Stan Kenton and His Orchestra.
