Info

Road Shows, Vol. Your Rating. 1 is the exciting inaugural release in a planned series of outstanding live Sonny Rollins recordings from the last 30-plus years. The seven tracks on the new CD, culled from the Carl Smith collection and Sonny Rollins s own personal soundboard recordings, were recorded in the U. Japan, France, and Sweden. What I also like on this album is that Rollins gives his long-term band mate Clifton Anderson some space to solo on More than You Know and Nice Lady. Anderson is a good trombonist, but Rollins often limits him to just playing some harmony on the opening and closing themes of songs. Read more. Sonny Rollins tenor saxophone Clifton Anderson trombone. Bobby Broom guitar Bob Cranshaw bass Jerome Harris bass, electric bass Christian McBride bass Stephen Scott piano Perry Wilson drums. Al Foster drums Roy Haynes drums Steve Jordan drums Victor See-Yuen percussion Kimati Dinizulu percussion. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей of the seven numbers on the album involve a band featuring the trombonist Clifford Anderson-Rollinss nephew, and the recordings producer-backed by a fusion guitarist and an electric bass. Its the style of the dark years of the nineteen-seventies, when classical-styled post-bebop struggled to find an audience. 1 is likely much the poorer for its having been assembled by the saxophonist and his nephew. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Road Shows Vol. 1 is the first, in what promises to be a long line of sound documentation to be published. The seven tracks heard here were recorded over three decades between 1980 and 2007, what an amounts to an entire career for some musicians. The array of players rotates, but the one constant here is that Rollins sound. In 1980 Warsaw, Poland, he plays Easy Living, as part of a quintet with pianist Mark Soskin. The restraint is evident, with Rollins sticking closely to the melody and, as he is legend to do, working and reworking it thrillingly.
