Info

Too Dark Park is the sixth studio album by the industrial music group Skinny Puppy. The album cover features the debut appearance of the band's SP logo. The cover art was created by Vancouver based artist Jim Cummins. The artwork for this album and its associated singles was inspired by cosmic horror stories such as the Cthulhu Mythos. The album was recorded spontaneously at Mushroom Studios and mixed at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. Though guitar is used throughout. Skinny Puppy. Released in 1990, Too Dark Park is considered by many to be Skinny Puppys magnum opus. The album came on the heals of the polarizing 1989 album Rabies, along with the behind the scenes manipulations of Ministrys Al Jourgenson to break up the band in order to steal Nivek Orge away to his group full time and his introduction of the band to heroin. Though their addictions were still relatively under control, the album reflects both the growing spectre of heroin abuse nearly destroying the band which was reflected in groutesque images that followed in the groups tour for the album. Off color job album cover, noisy vinyl pressing, screw it I only play Skinny Puppy loud anyway so I figure the loud distorted volume will cancel out the sh tty pressing noises. 답글 나에게 알림 Helpful. ok man :P Too Dark Park is one of the best Puppy albums because it really caught them at the peak of their productions and performances. Unlike previous albums, this one really has a special sound quality, it's borderline mainstream in fact. Enter Skinny Puppy. Brutal rants, electronic chaos, and dark disturbing samples. The group is most often thought of as a pioneer of industrial music. But if youre expecting strictly the fast pace Ministry sound of Rabies or the borderline techno sound of Bites, you might be in for a surprise on Too Dark Park. This album takes past styles and combines it with a new sense of hopelessness to make the quintessential Puppy sound. Right away youre exposed to this new disturbing sound. Convulsion hurls you into this spinning vortex of noise. The font makes for a satisfying experience? Uh... ok man :P Too Dark Park is one of the best Puppy albums because it really caught them at the peak of their productions and performances. Unlike previous albums, this one really has a special sound quality, it's borderline mainstream in fact. They jump around from the bizarre and nonsensical to the structured and danceable better on this album than nearly any other (The Process comes close). SkP isn't exactly the most accesible band in the world, but if you appreciate dark music, do yourself a favor and get this one.

No, i totally agree with the dude that had the comment on the Font. I see where he's coming from. I personally love typography, and feel its an often very important, but overlooked art. and the fact that Too Dark Park (and Tormentor) have some sweet hand written text in the dudes own typeface design… his design is sick and compliments the artwork well, and adds all the more to the creative artisticality of this record! I love reading it and even just staring at it (not reading it) and examing how the letters are each carefully drawn. such detail!

Grave Wisdom is a perfectly crafted track. Morpheus Laughing is interesting, and Tormentor is memorable because it is the first track. Convulsion and Nature's Revenge are also favorites. When one reads along to the music, the artwork and font provide for a sci-fi experience where gravity is the 4th dimension & grotesque creatures perpetually writhe in discomfort.

IWAS
harsh and sometimes unlistenable in the wrong mood/state-of-mind, this classick SP release is something any industrial fan should have. haunting lyrics and unstructured sounds complete this little vomiting act on modern society.
