Honky Tonk reissues nine of Roy Clark's Capitol recordings from the early '60s. Clark made a few hits during this period, but none are included guitar instrumentals dominate the program, and the only vocal track is Spooky Movies, a rock & roll novelty. Clark's instrumentals from this period sound more like rock with a slight jazz influence than country - Hold It, for example, strikes a guitar-and-organ groove that is closer to John Patton than Hee Haw.
