Info

Robert Fripp - 1985 1981. With Frippertronics as his mantra, Robert Fripp creates impressive instrumental structures by building layers of sound atop one another. This sort of ambient music is conducive to a specific frame of mind, but like Eno's Discreet Music it rewards the careful listener. Let the Power Fall can be seen as a refinement of the music explored on earlier Fripp & Eno collaborations, though with Eno out of the equation the songs take a decidedly more mathematical bent. Listen free to Robert Fripp Let The Power Fall 1984, 1985 and more. 6 tracks 51:44. Released in 1981 under EG Records, Let The Power Fall is an album of experimental but quite listenable musical tracks based on Robert Fripp's playing of recorded and looped guitar segments with limited effects. Starting with an initial segment made up of a single guitar sound or progression, these segments are then dubbed in loops across two tape machines whilst adding new guitar segments with varying delays, the whole thing gradually building into a u. Let The Power Fall is an experimental piece of work from King Crimson guitarist and founder Robert Fripp. The album is essentially a collection of six live improvised pieces performed solo on guitar using a method called Frippertronics. Basically, Frippertronics is a delay system utilizing two tape machines in which the guitar's input signal is looped indefinitely creating repeated masses of sound. On no other Robert Fripp album is this method displayed at its fullest potential his collaboration with Brian Eno No Pussyfooting comes close though

i love Frippertronics! i saw Fripp perform 3 different times during the '90's at the Theater of the Living Arts(TLA) in Philadelphia.each concert was outstanding(exceptionally good sound system there, too).the best was the last concert i saw,it was a League of Crafty Guitarists show..as a finale,Fripp did a scorching Frippertronics song that continued on for several minutes AFTER all of the performers had lined up on stage and filed off through the backstage exit.they all returned shortly, through the main auditorium entrance, walked down past the audience members and lined back up on stage, again(the music was still going, mind you!).after all of the Crafty Guitarist performers had walked off stage~the music just suddenly cut-off.Fripp was standing there alone on stage.there was a short moment of dead silence..then a roar of applause/standing ovation! it was a blast!!:)
