Christel Goltz was something of a phenomenon. We have a similar incarnation in Evelyn Herlitzius who is also singing the Dyer's Wife in Zurich in a production right now. Goltz was a tiny woman, trained as a ballet dancer. But I have 12 in all, which makes me even happier. Die Frau ohne Schatten has long been my favorite Strauss opera and I can't see that changing.
